1978...

Seems like so long ago - nearly 30 years. I'm not so sure I feel 30 years older. Seems like just yesterday I was kneeling down in the corner of "the Pit" to take action shots at a basketball game, and watching the band perform at half-time of a football game. The other week I was able to go into the old auditorium with the Class of 1957 - what a great group of people. The gleam in their eyes was the same as mine. They walked around with the same sense of amazement, and wonder, as I did; contemplating just how Parker High School had changed them. It was really like a dream. I just wish some of my friends could have been there so we could talk about our great memories.

Those memories and dreams all came flooding back to me when I walked in the auditorium. All those trips we made down the aisle to take our seats front and center as "the Great and Almighty Class of '78". I get chills just thinking about them now. Those were great days weren't they? Sitting in Ms. Colquitt's journalism class laying out the next day's morning announcements (what did we call that anyway?). Working out yearbook layouts with Mrs. Davis, going to Mr. Mohlenbrock for advice. And who can forget Mr. Dukas? Dah...not me. Mrs. Templeton, I'll never forget our character party (I was Karl Marx) in 10th grade English. But then again, I was a rebel.

Well, here is our chance to catch up and share memories. A chance to say thanks and a chance to reminisce. A chance to plan our next reunion. Come on and join me! This could be more fun than sitting in the Astro Theater to watch Star Wars seven times in a row. Yep. I admit it. I was one of those geeks who did it.

So, join me on this journey ( a little alliteration never hurt anybody). We don't need to lose our place in history as our memories fade.
